Em Wade

Kai Morton (she/her) is a digital artist based in Oakland who illuminates Black queer femme experiences through a vivid, surrealist lens. Inspired by anime, comic books, and manga, her vibrant work evokes a spectrum of emotions and themes, serving as a portal to alternate realities where representation is celebrated. She explores intersections of identity, weaving surrealism with powerful Black figures. Each piece is a technicolor testament to the beauty, strength, and complexity of Black queer femme experiences, often incorporating fantasy and sci-fi elements to challenge conventional narratives.

Kai Morton

Em Wade (they/she) is a mixed media artist based in Oakland, CA. Through their work, Em looks to understand their queerness, religious up-bringing, and the expansiveness of gender and living with a disability. Em's work is deeply intimate and invites their viewers to know, feel, and be by utilizing all of what surrounds them- medium and otherwise.

Alex Smith

Alex Smith (she/they) is an interdisciplinary artist and creative technologist. Her work explores themes of identity, recognition, and the fluid boundaries of human form. She is especially interested in ways of seeing, and how our identities and assumptions influence how we perceive the world around us.

Tara Morris

Tara Rose Morris (she/they) is a mixed desi creative technologist and new media artist based between Toronto, New York, and Oakland. Her work exists in conversation with emerging technologies including AI, NFTs, and XR, exploring their uses as avenues to greater connection to self and with others.

She has shown work at SXSW, NFT Now Gateway, and Superchief Gallery. She has taught workshops at BAMP and NeueHouse.
